Nadagogo refers to the 500-year-old sake brewing regions of Kobe and Nishinomiya in Hyogo Prefecture:
Nishi-go, Mikage-go, Uozaki-go (Kobe City), Nishinomiya-go, and Imazu-go (Nishinomiya City).
It is the region that produces the largest amount of sake in Japan and still accounts for about 25% of domestic production.
The area has flourished as a famous sake-producing region since the Edo period (1603-1868) because of its natural
environment suitable for sake brewing and its high-quality underground water.
Many major sake breweries have their headquarters in Nadagogo, and there are also many sake breweries in the area.
灘五郷とは、兵庫県神戸市と西宮市にある500年の歴史を持つ酒造りの地、西郷、御影郷、魚崎郷（神戸市）、西宮郷、今津郷（西宮市）を
指しています。酒造りに適した自然環境と良質な地下水に恵まれ、日本一の日本酒生産量を誇り、江戸時代（1603-1868）から酒どころとして
栄えてきました。現在でも国内生産量の約25％を占め、大手酒造会社の多くが灘五郷に本社を置き、酒蔵も数多くあります。
